Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say, on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day, that's the island greeting that we sing to you from the land where palm trees sway....la la la.  Does everybody love the Puppini Sisters' version, or is it just me?  Seasons' Greetings to all of you, no matter what your holiday preference! Although it is wreaking havoc on other parts of our planet Earth, today I am celebrating El Nino, since it is a balmy 70 degrees, with full sun and blue skies as far as the eye can see here on the East Coast.  El Nino is currently hanging out just east of Hawaii, bringing incredible surf to the Hawaiian islands. Mahalo!

What better way to channel that breezy island spirit than by celebrating mermaids? Since time began, mermaids and sirens have been captivating eyes, ears and hearts of mortal men. A little trivia for my middle East Coast friends: the title of Norfolk, England (and hence, Norfolk, Virginia) was supposedly derived from a combination of Northern Folk, as the inhabitants of this part of Merry Old England occupied the upper East corner, bordering on the North Sea, and Merfolk, who allegedly were sighted by Vikings as they crossed the North Sea  to raid early Anglo-Saxon monasteries and kingdoms. Mermaids are alluring, mysterious and powerful. Do you know anyone with those qualifications? hmmm.....  Jenstones mermaid collection features mermaid rings, cuffs, earrings and pendants, like the beautiful sterling siren show above, dangling from an elegant fresh-water pearl inlaid in sterling silver.  This sea goddess pendant can be worn on a Jenstones silver chain or a strand of fresh-water pearls (both sold separately), shown below.  Whether you are basking in the sun this holiday season, or cozied up by the fire, remember to be good to yourself.  Enjoy!  A hui hou (until we meet again)!
